Opened in October 1971, the original Walt Disney World’s theme park, Magic Kingdom remains Walt Disney World’s most popular Orlando theme park, attracting more than 17 million visitors a year. The venerable theme park has been giving magic experiences more than three decades of changing cultures, a constantly shifting social climate, and receiving visitors from all over the world. Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is divided into five areas (lands) which all meet right in front of Cinderella Castle.
The five Magic Kingdom lands consist of Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, Frontierland, Liberty Square and Adventureland. The true essence of Disney World’s Magic Kingdom contains some real “don’t miss” family attractions. Disney World’s Magic Kingdom strengths is the cross-generational appeal of many of its great attractions. Splash Mountain is a great example. It’s not unusual to see three generations of family members enjoying riding together. Other park favorites like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Haunted Mansion offer similar appeal to visitors.
Space Mountain is still one of Magic Kingdom’s best attractions. This classic Walt Disney ride send guests on a roller coaster ride through space, set to a soundtrack that features music, the sounds of passing spaceships and asteroids zipping by. Most spectacular of all Disney’s parks are in Magic Kingdom with parades and fireworks displayed at the Magic Kingdom’s castle in Orlando. Most notably, the current combo of the “Wishes” fireworks show, and the perennial nighttime favorite, Main Street Electrical Parade.
