Walt Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is the second water park at Walt Disney World. The park opened on June 1, 1989, and is home to one of the world’s great largest outdoor wave pools. The theme of Typhoon Lagoon park is the “Disney legend” of a typhoon that wreaked havoc upon a formerly pristine tropical island paradise. Fishing gear, ships and surfboards are strewn about where the storm flung them.
